Our doctor prescribed this formula for our twin boys at the hospital. I realized the day before we left the hospital that we didn't have any of this formula at home. I quickly ordered this 1-qt jug in the hope that with the first few days home being very frenetic and this jug would work well trying to keep the kids fed.
To use this jug, you must keep it refrigerated after you open it and you must use it all within 3 days.
It was discovered after the first few days, it was just as convenient to use warmed tap water and mix the powder formula than to have to warm the bottle with the premade formula.
We ultimately decided to just keep using the powdered formula for home use and for short car rides (in a insulated cooler bag with a cold pack). For longer road trips, I could see this staying in the ice chest. Overall I just didn't find the jug all that useful at this point.

Breastmilk has sugar in it, it is why a lot of breastfed babies will refuse formula supplementing. Similic is a godsend for me as I can never feed exclusive breastmilk, I must supplement at least 2 oz. formula after each breastfeeding, even with pumping. We only drink organic milk b/c my husband is allergic to the pesticide they put in the feed of the cows and breaks out in a horrible rash when he drinks nonorganic milk, so for our baby we would not use any formula besides organic. That being said my son would not drink Earth's Best as it is not sweet like my milk is sweet, when we found Similac organic it was such a blessing as he finally would drink it no problem. Similac has put a lot of effort into helping Moms who cannot breastfeed, they listened and developed a product that tastes most like Moms milk. My son is 3 now and has no cavities at all. I thought I was doing the right thing by buying organic and thought Similac was a brand I could trust to be good for baby. That is, until I came across this NY Times article about the sugar they use... [...] Needless to say I'm switching to another brand.

This is the only formula we used once I stopped nursing my son when he was 8 months old. It is a bit expensive, but it's worth it if you're concerned about having organic formula. My son had no problem switching from breast milk to this formula.

I purchased these for my sons, 19 mos and 4 years to eat as snack before dinner so that I knew they were getting a fruit serving. I tried some before I gave any to them and they are pretty good. There is definitely a distinct banana taste which is fine for us. I like the containers. I do think that Plum Organics or Happy Baby have comparable products and are less expensive than the Ella's Kitchen products. I would definitely buy these again, though.

I've always been resistant to the idea of giving my kids store-bought baby food, but my sister-in-law recommended Ella's to us when we were going on a family camping trip. I purchased this item at local target store before I buy from amazon. The Ella's Strawberries and apples taste bit sour and watery compare to Ella's Sweet Potatoes, Pumpkin, Apples + Blueberries(The purple pouch). I tried to feed my twins and they both did not like it. They really liked Ella's Sweet Potatoes, Pumpkin, Apples + Blueberries. They constantly ate the purple pouches but not this red one. However, my twins ate it right after they finished purple pouch which was sweet, thicker and tasty. I end up ate them all my self.
